Grace and Scott first met in 2018, shortly before graduating high school. Scott was attending Loyola, while Grace was at Marymount. At a mutual friend’s Cinco De Mayo party in Westchester, the happy couple first laid eyes on each other.
The two were randomly paired to compete on the same team in a heated beer pong matchup - the first of many victories the two would celebrate together.
Grace and Scott didn’t talk much after that, but the connection was made. They could not get each other out of their heads!
For the rest of the short-lived school year, they continued to run into each other at parties and social events, and sparks kept on flying.
Scott finally bucked up the courage to ask for Grace’s phone number, and they were off to the races. After sharing their first kiss a few weeks later at Marymount Prom, they were inseparable for the rest of the summer.
A High School Cliche
After a whirlwind romance through the summer, Grace and Scott were faced with a difficult decision. Each was already committed to colleges halfway across the country from one another - Grace at SMU, and Scott at Boston College.
Though they had only been together for a handful of months, they could tell what they had and felt was special. They decided to try and make it work - visiting each other almost every month during their freshman year of college.
While it was one of the hardest things the young couple had ever done, it was more than worth it! Scott soon made the decision to transfer to SMU with Grace, and they couldn’t have been more excited.
The pair settled into their new lives at SMU, growing as individuals and as a couple, strengthening the bond that will soon be sealed in marriage. They did a little bit of partying too!
Decisions, Growth, and College!
After a few fun years, Grace and Scott graduated with their degrees - and were sent out into the real world to pursue their adult life together. Each were lucky enough to obtain job offers out of college, and Grace and Scott lived their life very similarly to their university selves (except with a little extra dough in their pockets).
They each knew what they had was more than simply a young fling - they had grown together throughout a year of long distance, college life, and post grad experiences. For their five year anniversary, Scott surprised Grace with tickets to a dream vacation in Italy - something the couple had always dreamed of doing.
They spent the next five months preparing the dream itinerary and were ready to spend ten days in Rome and the Amalfi Coast. Unbeknownst to Grace, Scott was planning an even bigger surprise - a proposal!
On a beautiful Sunday in Rome, the couple headed to their dinner a few hours early - the restaurant had a world renowned cocktail bar and attached garden. After an Aperol Spritz to calm the nerves, Scott popped the question then and there - “Will you marry me?” One of the easiest questions Grace had ever had to answer.
Adulting and a Rather
Important Question
From now until forever…
Since returning from Italy, slightly sunburned and very well fed, the couple moved in together to a cozy apartment in Dallas. Grace and Scott currently live there with their two cats (seven combined legs).
Scott is still working as an analyst at a commercial real estate firm, while Grace was recently promoted to account manager at her digital marketing agency. In classic weekend warrior fashion, the couple loves to spend their weeks outdoors and try to travel as much as their busy schedules allow.
They cannot wait for April, and extend a warm welcome and thank you to all that will attend!
To the Warners!
